I was rich, if not in money, in sunny hours and summer days.

When Thoreau wrote that line, he was thinking of the Walden Pond he knew as a boy.

Walking along the memory lane, I cannot help thinking of the basketball gym where I used to have great fun with my lovely friends. We went there when dawn broke, and then we played basketball in the hot sun, always killing the whole morning. Crazy, isn’t it? At that time,basketball,undoubtedly, became a friend of ours, or even a part of my life. Something deserves to belong to one sometime in life. Because of basketball, stupid but crazy guys like us, got together and became best friends than we could ever be in this life.

Time swallows many things: the gym is replaced by factories, and in the dump sleep quietly all parts of the basketball shelves. What matters most is that there will never be the crazy boys fooling around and teasing with basketball. Time flies--now we’re walking on a brand new life journey, separating from each other for our own puzzling future. It keeps reminding me of a saying in American TV series One Tree Hill—people always leave. I should admit that nothing can really accompany you forever in real life. In the end, they have to go no matter how you feel. Just as Emerson said, heartily known, when half gods go, the gods arrive.

Anyway, I will cherish those precious moments at the bottom of my heart. When alone or in a peaceful mind, they will always touch my heart and remind me of the unforgettable scenes. They all are walking on their own life: friendship flourishes in the beautiful memories. I will be very glad to claim that basketball still keeps me company all the time. And I believe he will always be with me and become a lifelong friend seeing me through difficulties and setbacks and witnessing my glorious moments. Playing basketball makes me feel good and learn how to appreciate my life--although I am not with my family all the year. I can treat it as home away from home.

Basketball has become a touchstone of my life against bad things especially when I lean how to protect myself after series of wounds from it. Why do you choose basketball, since you have been hurt because of it, asks my friend. Why? Words fail me. I can only say you cannot help loving a thing without regretting, once it becomes part of you. Just put it in an easy way, I just love this game and I enjoy it!

Yeah, no need for me to add extra explanations or reasons for my love of something. To some degree, basketball represents my young days, or just like a band in which I save my most valuable treasuries.

buffer based on SOA


All of this give a new train of thought to the research of optical buffer based on SOA, and contain certain value.This thesis mainly research Dual-loop Optical Buffer (DLOB) based on GT-SOA , which is from horizontal "8" shaped structure but changed the core device of original buffer program. A new "read-write" method is achieved, which made the use of GT-SOA's transparency effects to the 1550nm signal light. Firstly, the performance of GT-SOA has been determined and transparency effects to the signal light have been found, and polarization rotation phenomenon has also been observed. Then through a series of experiments, including the synchronous experiments of signal light and control light, optical switching experiments, loop length measurement experiments, the "read-write" experiments, and storage of data frames is realized. Meticulous researches of buffer structure are made, suggestions to improve the program are proposed, and power compensation in the loop is realized, as while as avoiding the generation of "fake" leak. The NOLM switch and polarization rotation switch based on GT-SOA are proposed in this thesis, and all the desired results have been achieved.

james posey is more of a consistent shooter and has a smarter basketball IQ. Not to mention his will to win and his playoff and finals experience. he is a reliable sixth man and a great player to have on your team. bryant reeves is a joke.

I think

I'm one of those who will forever hate Michael Jordan for killing us in the playoffs every year (the '89 and '92 teams were serious title contenders, and had it not been for the shot in '89 and the '92 Eastern Finals those teams WOULD have been NBA Champs)......
Having said that I respect the man incredibly for his passion to win and kill the other team at all cost. What sepparates Michael from everyone then, and even moreso now, is that he would rather rip your head off and spit in it if it meant winning a pre-season game, let alone the playoffs. He was maniacally, intensively competitive. Ask anyone who golfed against him or played poker against him.
Today we see LeBron and Kobe hugging the other team they are about to play, every night. Every player today does this. JORDAN NEVER DID THIS! He would look straight into the eyes of everyone and then, especially the 1995-96 team, he would lead the Bulls into a systematic destruction of your team and your morale. You would NEVER catch Jordan hugging the enemy before a game. Say what you want about Rodman, the 1995-96 Bulls team was the BEST EVER IN NBA HISTORY, and Jordan was the leader, the driver. He drove them in practice, got on them when they didn't feel like working harder, pushed and pushed them to just go all out on every team, every night. He'd be pissed if they beat a bad team by only 15 points. He'd be pissed if they beat a good team by 5 points. If the Bulls didn't blow the other team out by 20 points, he was pissed.
Add that drive to his sheer skills and no doubt was Jordan the best ever.
LeBron has the skills, but I doubt he will ever match Jordan's passion and drive to beat the enemy. Untill LeBron quits hugging the other team before the game, and starts driving the rest of the Cavs to go out and blow everyone out by 20 and be upset if they only beat you by 5, LeBron will never be anywhere near Jordan's shoes.
Proof is in the pudding: the Bulls made the playoffs his year and a half off in 1994-1995, but Pippen et al were soft without MJ.
